New Seasons always start with some Qualifiers to decide who belong with the best and who should get used to a spot among the rest.

Exactly four months have passed since we announced our league system and therefor the change from the ladder to the league. Today we mark the official end of the first season and want to look back on the last four months: Was the new system successful? When does season 2 starts? Are there any changes? The ESL Gather system is also supporting Insurgency now. You are able to find friends and like-minded people to play with. It is not focused on the competition but more on the fun and social part of gaming. The 15 Matchday have been played and now we found the best four Counter-Strike Manager players in the european section of the Electronic Sports League. The best four players are now playing in the playoffs to find the winner of the League Season I.

The highest league in national eSports, the ESL Pro Series, will start in Poland! Counter-Strike 1.6 and America's Army are the games of the Polish ESL Pro Series. The best teams in Poland will play against each other and 40,000 PLN (about 12,000 Euro) prize money. The ESL Pro Series will start in October 2008 and will end with spectacular offline finals in February 2009.

It has been a few weeks since the last major changes here in the ESL Europe Call of Duty 4 section. In that time the game has continued to evolve. Promod has massively increased in popularity, Aequitas has been tested more and we have seen a need to improve the demo rules. See inside for more details regarding these very important issues.

For over a year we have been rewarding players and teams for playing the most matches on the ESL in their favourite games in our monthly Most Matches Competitions (MMC) in the German section. Starting next month we will also have the MMC here in the European section!

The first day of the Insurgency Opening Cup is over and the clans already start preparing for the upcoming matches in the 2nd round and the loser bracket. We would like to use the time in between the matches for a short review and to give some advice for the players.

Today is the 25th of September and most of you know what this means: Laddershot of division 1 for ESL Major Series qualification. "Oh My God It Is", "K1ck eSports" and "n2o - gaming.de" have claimed the three slots. Overall now 11 out of 16 teams have qualified and Qualifier #2 is still running!
