BOINC - Its Race Time again!
| |||
![]() Not so long ago we beat Planet3dnow in our first Spinhenge@Home Race. Now we take have moved on to a new challege: We have been invited to the "WCG Bunny Race" at the "World Community Grid". Well-known Distributed Computing Teams from all around the world participate in the race and we, of course, accept the challenge. This race will be a lot harder than the last one so we need every bit of your PC power!
Facts & Links
- Project: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org - Official Challenge Website - Start: 1.3. End: 24.3. - How can I participate and contribute? World Community Grid The World Community Grid is a little different from the BOINC projects. There are some sub-projects that all count into the World Community Grid. It is basically a "Boinc within Boinc". You can choose you preferred project(s) within the WCG, they all count into the race statistics. Details of the WCG project can be found at rechenkraft.net. (Hint: The registration does not work automatically with the BAM Account Manager, but after a manual registration BAM finds your account and you can control the settings.) Awards? As an additional motivation we have again some special Race Awards. Like last time, Awards will only be given if we win the race. The Top-Crunchers will get an Elite Award. These are the top 10% of the participants. The worst 10% will not get the general Race-Award. That means, that one working unit will not be enough.When does the race start? The sooner the better, so we can warm up a little bit before the start of the race. Tell all of your friends. From the 1.3. on we need everything that helps us to win the race! Happy Crunching! *Hint*: The registrations from ESL users seem to be too much for the WCG website. Please register with this link, you will the join the ESL team automatically.
